Constituent Corner - Effective Communication
  • Introduce yourself at the beginning of your letter or email with your full name and address.
  • If you are writing about a specific bill, include the bill number and title. This helps us quickly identify the issue at hand.
  • Address multiple concerns in different letters. A letter covering many different topics is less effective than a concise letter about one issue.
  • If you are writing about a legislative issue, state your position clearly and openly. We always appreciate constituent comments.
  • If you are writing about a constituent concern, outline the problem in as much detail as possible. Also, make sure to include as much information as possible. This will help us effectively and quickly resolve your problem.
  • When writing a letter, make sure to print clearly as to avoid confusions.
